If the questions on the CPA exam are just so different from practice questions.then I don't see how it's possible for me to pass this.ĬPA#1, it is hard to believe that you just graduated in May and actually studied like you said.I took the test in Feb without studying a lick and got a 46 on FAR, 51 on AUD, 70 on BEC, and a 45 on REG!!!I also have not taken an accounting class in 6 years!! After studying for one week I passed BEC, one month I passed FAR, and two weeks I passed Audit, all with Wiley.I don't even have an accounting degree. But I doubt more practice problems would do the trick as the CPA questions were nothing like what were in the Wiley book. On the practice problems, some areas were good but some were bad. You just have to study hard and give it your best shot.which is what I thought I did. Everyone has told me that it's impossible to know everything for this exam. Yes, I felt I understood most of the topics. Though my government & Not-for-Profit accounting was the worst. My performance report was weak in everything. Studied around 2 hours a day for a few months. License applied for Nov 2009, received Jan 2010 How long did you study for? What does your performance report say? How did you study? Did you feel that you really understood the material? How were you performing on the practice problems before your exam? A score like that has to mean that I’m not capable of passing this. Because after all my hard work in college and after all that studying I did from the Wiley book, I end up getting such a terrible score. I’ve always been a good accounting student yet look at that pathetic score I got on FAR!!! I understand maybe 65 or something in that area, but 52?!?! I’m seriously debating whether or not I should even give it a second shot. Again, I don’t mean to sound like I’m bragging, but I need to let you know how unusual my situation is. In fact, I was one of 4 people out of 35 students to get an A in Intermediate Accounting. I did very well in accounting in college and happened to be one of the best accounting students. Please note that I failed with a miserable and pathetic 52. I appreciate the encouragement, but from looking at people’s signatures here, most people failed in the low 70s or high 60s. I think it would serve you well to use a program that generates the MCQs and provides explanations to the correct answers. The times I thought I bombed the exam, I passed. The times I thought I did well, I failed. Honestly, I'm still completely baffled that I passed the CPA. I want to pass and I need to pass and I will pass this EXAM!!! You will look back in your 50's and hopefully say.I'm glad I didn't give up!!!Īs Rocky says: Its not about how hard you hit.its about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward!!! So now I going to do it.not because I need to, but because I want to.ĭo it now.you can and you will pass. I have had a pretty successful career, serving as top finance guy in serveral companies.got by with my MBA, but never felt good not having my CPA. Now I'm in my early 50's and I regret not facing it head on. As life passed me by, raised my kids, took care of my family chores and moved up in my career, I always found an excuse not to continue chipping away at it. I like you took all the four parts the first time right out of grad school and failed all four parts miserably.18 years ago. Keep at it!! How bad do you want it.that is what you need to ask yourself. Are there people out there who get pathetic scores like mine and eventually pass and become CPAs?Īny piece of advice would be greatly appreciated.Any special tips for the smart people like me that did miserably on this test?.Or.should I just give up and move on to another direction in life? Be honest! Do I have any chance of passing this.ever? If so, what can I do? Does Becker REALLY make a difference? If so, I may try to sign up for their review classes.Studied the Wiley book like crazy and got a pitiful 52!!!! How the heck did this happen? I took a review course (non-Becker) over the summer. I don't mean to sound braggy, but I need to let everyone know that I'm not just some dumb guy that's not studying and is just taking this exam for the heck of it. I graduated from college with honors last May with a BS and MS in Accounting. I took AUD last week and haven't got the results yet, but from the looks of things, it'll probably be another FAIL. Got a 52! Boy, am I depressed! This is the first time I took this CPA exam ever. I just joined the site today because I took the FAR section of the CPA exam last month and just got the results.
